- Child Birth Mod
You must have a copy of the Sims4 as well as the "get to work" expansion pack. The Childbirth mod does not work on outdated games, pirated games or legacy editions.
Please 1) update the child birth mod to the latest version, 2) update your game to the latest version, and follow this tutorial to make sure you don't have old versions in your mods folder (this is where most problems come from), Remember to always delete old versions, never try to replace!
If you don't see the option to "Call Obstetrician" on your sim's phone when they are pregnant it means the mod is not installed correctly, follow this tutorial. Then clear your cache.
You still have old versions of the child birth mod in your mods folder. You must find them and delete them.

Make sure you are pressing down the shift key on your keyboard when clicking on your sim, if you still don't see it, it could mean you never enabled the cheat menu in game. To Enable the cheat menu you need to press down Ctrl+Shift+C on your keyboard, which will open a white input bar at the top left corner of your screen, type in testingcheats true and press enter, and try shift clicking on your sim again. If you still don't see it it means the mod is not installed correctly, follow this tutorial to fix your installation.
Make sure the mod is up to date and installed correctly.
Double check the pregnancy settings in CAS for both your sim and the sim they are trying for a baby with. Make sure one can "Become pregnant" and the other can "Get others pregnant".
If you still don't see it that means you could be due to a mod conflict. Several people have had this issue in the past, but none were able to figure out which mod is causing it, and all said the pregnancy test option appeared randomly after a while.
Pregnancy wishes and surrogacy are not part of the child birth mod, they are from Relationship & Pregnancy Overhaul by Lumpinou.
- Home Birth
First make sure the mod is up to date and installed correctly. Wait till your sim is in labor, click on them and select "Start Home Birth", if you see sparkles around your sims feet, it means you have started home birth successfully, check your sim's phone again under the "Home" category and you should see the option to call the midwife.
First make sure the mod is up to date and installed correctly. If you still don't see the option to start home birth even though your files are installed correctly, try with just the childbirth mod in your mods folder to see if it is a mod conflict.

First make sure your sim is ready to give birth, you can do so by using the "give birth immediately" cheat. You must have a birth partner(romantic partner highly recommended) on the lot with you to perform bed birth, to do so find a sim with 30+ romance or 70+ friendship and select "ask to accompany child birth".
Going into CAS and coming back out will fix this issue, or it should go away on its own within 40 sim minutes.
This could happen if you don't have Get to Work, play in a household with more than 8 sims, or don't have any doctors in your game. If none of that applies to you, look around your sim's house, sometimes they arrive down the street and won't com in until you talk to them.
If your baby was added to your house but is not on your lot, follow this tutorial to get them back.
If your baby did not get added to your household after birth, it could be because you have an outdated baby cradle by Ingeli, You need to either update your cradle or remove it from your mods folder. Make sure to remove the file named BabyBassinetTuning.package because that's what causes the issue.
- Hospital
This could happen if you:
- Are using CC surgery machine, surgery machine overrides(See Mod Conflict)
- Have a Mod Conflict
- Manually placed down birth beds. You should never purchase birth beds from build and buy, the surgery machine will transform into birth beds when its time for birth.
- Asked a regular doctor to help with birth instead of an obstetrician. Only Obstetricians can help your sim give birth.
This could happen if you have a mod conflict or are playing on legacy edition. If you see doctors at the front of the door but they change and leave immediately, it could be because you are playing in a household with more than 8 sims, there are no known fix unless you downsize your household to under 8 sims.
Make sure the epidural is working and has kicked in. There is a chance the epidural will fail, in which case your sim will get a "uncomfortable" moodlet, you must ask the obstetrician to replace the epidural until it gives you the happy moodlet. Alternatively, you can try the "give birth immediately" cheat.
Sometimes it can take several tries for the epidural to work. Keep asking the obstetrician to replace it until it works.
